Eagle Firefighters Local 4553
Serving Our Members. Supporting Our Community. Protecting Our Public.
Eagle Firefighters Local 4553 was formed in 2007 with a simple but important mission: to support the health, safety, and well-being of our firefighters while serving the community we are proud to call home.
Our Local is one part of what we view as a three-legged stool — the Firefighters’ Local, Fire Department Administration, and the Fire District Commissioners. Each leg has a different role, but all three are essential to maintaining a strong, safe, and effective fire department. When we work together with mutual respect and a shared commitment to our community, everyone benefits.
Our Number One Priority Is the Public
At the heart of everything we do is the community we serve.
Our firefighters have the privilege and responsibility of responding when people need help most. Whether answering a structure fire, medical emergency, rescue call, or other crisis, our members are committed to providing the highest level of service possible.
We also believe that serving our community extends beyond the emergency calls we answer. Throughout the year, Eagle Firefighters Local 4553 works to give back and support causes that directly impact the people in our community and beyond.
Giving Back
Our members are proud to support charitable efforts that make a difference in the lives of others.
We help raise funds for the IAFF Fill the Boot campaign, supporting individuals and families affected by neuromuscular diseases.
Our members also participate in the Blood Cancer United Stair Climb, honoring those affected by blood cancers and raising funds to support lifesaving research and assistance for patients and families.
Locally, we maintain a Burnout Fund to help members of our community who have been displaced from their homes because of a fire or other emergency. When someone loses their home or is suddenly facing an uncertain future, we believe our community should be there to help. The Burnout Fund allows us to provide immediate assistance during some of the most difficult moments a family can experience.
Working Together
We value our relationships with the Fire Department Administration and our Commissioners. We understand that each group brings a different perspective and responsibility to the table, and we believe the strongest fire department is one where those perspectives can come together.
As a Local, part of our responsibility is advocating for the health and safety of our members. Healthy, well-trained, and properly supported firefighters are better equipped to serve the public when the call comes.
Advocating for our members and advocating for our community go hand in hand. When we work toward safe working conditions, appropriate resources, and a strong fire service, we are ultimately working toward a safer community for everyone.
Proud to Serve Eagle
For nearly two decades, Eagle Firefighters Local 4553 has been proud to represent the firefighters who answer the call for our community.
We are grateful for the continued support of the residents we serve, and we are proud of the partnerships we have built with our Administration, Commissioners, and community organizations.
Our commitment remains simple:
Support our firefighters | Support our community | Advocate for safety | And always put the public first
Eagle Firefighters Local 4553 — serving our members and our community since 2007.
